Smoked brisket (leftovers) with homemade sauce
I came up with this recipe for some leftover barbecue slices I kept in the freezer after a big get together.
This is the same as the Pork County Ribs BBQ recipe but instead of pork I thought it would also be good with barbecued beef brisket and I was right. It is delicious in a hamburger bun with dill pickle slices and sliced onions. It is especially good with a side dish of potato salad and pickled jalapenos.
- Sauté in 1 TBS butter:
- 1 or 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium size onions, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, minced
(Sauté until onions are transparent).
Stir in:
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup catsup
- 1 TBS Brown Sugar
- 3 shakes of Tabasco Sauce (more if you like it hot)
Heat until it starts to boil
Pour this sauce over the pre-cooked brisket (leftover slices) in a small baking dish, preferably glass. Bake uncovered in a preheated 350°F oven for about 1 hour or until the sauce is thickened but not dried.
Try this. It is very good.
