This is one of the popular home baked cookies during the Holiday Season. They are usually brought to work for potluck or brought to the office as a Holiday offering to co-workers. They are also good as Christmas gifts to friends and neighbors.
Procedure:
Mix well together with a mixer or hand beater:
- ½ cup softened butter
- ½ cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1-½ cups sugar
Mix in a separate bowl:
- 2 ¾ cups flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ¼ tsp. salt
Add the dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture and mix well.
In a small bowl, mix:
- 2 TBS sugar
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Scoop a walnut size portion of the cookie dough, shape to a ball and roll on the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Space them 2” apart in an ungreased cookie sheet or lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 450°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool in a rack.
Makes about 4 dozens 2” cookies.
